I really need to get a new Mic. I ordered a Mic so hopefully it will arrive before the next one. I sound like I have a bad cold.

Podcast-a-reno! Just resubscribed, and have a roughly 20 minute drive this arvo that this will fill nicely!
Bernd Kilga Sep 21, 2026
Sounds good! Will be perfect when you get your gear.

Comments are back. I have no one to blame but myself.

Thanks for that podcast. Listened to that to start the day!

Somehow I was expecting something after the outro song... I wonder why...

It is good to hear everybody together again. Also did you spoil that Jenn might be responsible for TWP2 to happen, or am I imagining things? :)

Looking forward to more of this. Have a good daytime!

Oh wow, as soon as the intro music kicked in that "ten years since the last one" seemed like yesterday!

Thanks for taking the time to put it together everyone... great to hear all your voices again and get a little insight into the process.
Pennsylvania Smith Sep 21, 2026
Yeah - that intro music reached directly into my forebrain and waggled its fingers all around, "hey hey! remember meeee!" I really appreciate the extra effort to bring back the podcast and let us come along for the ride again, especially given the current geographic distribution of the team.
Zak Phoenix McKracken Sep 21, 2026
Finally, well done!
This time, on Spotify there are automatic subtitles, too!
RonsCompVids Sep 21, 2026
I'm glad the podcast is finally on the air!
Zak Phoenix McKracken Sep 21, 2026
None of you have made the fundamental question.
How's the weather?

Kaboooooom
Agent Very Furious Sep 21, 2026
Great! It's bad, BUT That mic Ron!! Yep, should definately get that fixed! Sounds like you're talking thru a laptop webcam mic from 2008 or something!
Zak Phoenix McKracken Sep 21, 2026
Pardon. At 16'00

Sorry to hear about your cold! Feel better!

Whaaat? A Thimbleweed Park *2*? I ran, did not walk, to add it to my Steam watch list.

FWIW, after playing Deloris (a lot), the TP1 controls feel clunky. I look forward to what you ship in TP2.

We should get David drunk for sure.

You are implementing a system for solving the murder mysteries.
Gentlemen you had my curiosity ... but now you have my attention.
Sameasihadontwitter Sep 22, 2026
finally something to listen to while I continue making my own (POC, two rooms, one puzzle) first 2D adventure game. Waiting for the next episode while babysitting my LLMs

Tech company: At long last, we have created the neural-tube network AI from classic 1987 adventure game Thimbleweed Park.

Thanks for the podcast, they were great and funny during TWP1, looking forward for more to come.
Didn't think I missed the intro music so much until it blasted out of the speaker!

Great work.

This is such great news, and I hope it leads to a lot of new PnC Adventure Games.

Keep making them and I’ll keep buying and playing them

Strange. I was one of the original Kickstarter backers, subscribed to the old blog, listened to every one of the podcasts episodes, beta-tested the iOS version, actively participated in the forum community (for quite a while), and played TWP on Mac and iPad at least once a year. So, I am a fan.

And yet ... I was not aware that TWP2 was even being considered. Had not had even a whiff of it.

I am on the Intarwebs, and I don't think I live under a rock.

However, I only found out because one morning my iPhone Podcast app notified me that a new episode of the TWP podcast was available. Uh?

All that to say that, had I unsubscribed to the podcast or changed devices, or ignored the notification as a glitch, I would have completely missed this news. I may not be the only one.

Mr. Gilbert, you may want to add a post to the old Kickstarter project to notify all the old fans, just in case. I know that occasionally (sadly, *very* occasionally) I receive an update from the other game project I backed, the one from the two Space Quest guys. It ostensibly keeps the momentum going (for some infinite quantum of momentum) even after over a decade of that project being in development (*sigh*).

It may be a way to reach out to the old guard. Just a thought. I would have hated to have I missed this whole thing, and I can't help but think that other fans may be missing it already ...

Anyway, I am here now. All is well with the world. :)

I listened to the whole thing!
MikO Sep 23, 2026
i can not believe, it has been about nine years already. i am pretty hyped. if i recall correctly, you said that Thimbleweed Park was far from a financial success, and that you would not consider doing it again or something along those lines.

Good to hear, things have changed and all are aboard again!

I can not wait to here about the wimpy's and dinky's in future episodes, building up to the release of the game in the far future.

Is Mark doing the art and Steve doing the music again? The OST was so good, i bought it twice!

Hoping Ron is not going to be pre-occupied by the WoW release :D

Just checking if I can still comment (tried a few times the last days and gave up)
In summary:

Thanks for the podcast! Made me laugh and tear up to hear that intro again.

That's a good point. I'll do that.

The announcement did get picked up by a few of the gaming sites, but we're holding off a big press juggernaut. The game won't come out until 2028.
Big Red Button Sep 24, 2026

Makes sense. It might make it easier to focus on the project during this early period. The number of frequent visitors will increase anyway over time.
DZ-Jay Sep 24, 2026
Hi, Mr. Gilbert. Thanks for following up. I understand that the game is not going to be released for a long while. I just thought that there may be other non-gamer adventure fans that participated in the previous Kickstarter that would be interested in following the development along, like myself. :)

I am excited for this project. I loved TWP and still play it occasionally. It is still, in my opinion, the best adventure game ever made (in spite of the ending, sorry).

I hope you consider an iOS release. To this day, TWP on an iPad is one of the best gaming experience I've had.

Thanks again for doing this.

I missed every one of these 10 years ago, but since this is using RSS and I'm subscribed, I see this and can hear/follow up. Meaning: part of the future we were promised is finally here, despite some folks trying to kill it off (:

Thanks for that all of you (:

Ok Captcha, what do you mean "click on all the animals that eat the food source: GIANT SQUARE OF SOLID CRIMSON RED" you seriously need to talk to Ron & company about how to make puzzles.
Simounet Sep 25, 2026
Hi Ron. I've just started this 1st episode and had a flash about where I was when I was listening to the episodes about the first game. Such a blast to be there again "with you". Have a nice day!
seguso Sep 25, 2026
I'm so moved hearing this podcast again! I'm curious: what is the “system for solving murder mysteries”? Does this mean there will be some separate user interface for logical deductions? Something like the "golden idol" UI would be great imho!

Please Ron! Can you please write a book on the puzzle dependency chart, along with all the knowledge of how to make good adventure games?? I'd be the first to buy it!
Josh Oct 10, 2026
It's so great to have you back. You're one of the constants in my life. An irregular one, sure. But a constant nonetheless!
Kolzig Oct 12, 2026
I did get some amusement that in the podcast app, this was the 69th podcast episode when continuing from the first game to the development of the second game.
